Styling a home could be a daunting task for some of us, this is why I'll be doing a series on here on simple ways to style peculiar spaces in your home.
Console tables are narrow styled tables usually placed at the entryway, hallway or against a wall. They could serve as an aesthetic piece or a functional piece depending on where you intend placing them in your space.
I personally prefer styling it as an aesthetic piece to fill up the space and this works really well for entryways and hallways.
I'm pretty sure there are several ways to style a console table so my "style" is not the ONLY way but I love it :)
1 . Choosing a Console Table: Most tables are made of wood, metal or glass. There are several styles on the market. I personally lean towards light coloured or weathered wood . Your choice of color or style will depend on your design style. For example, mid century modern, Scandinavian, modern farmhouse etc. Take a look at some options below.
2. Wall Décor: It's a good idea to add fill up the wall space behind the console table before you begin layering on the actual table - this is assuming you are placing your console table against a wall. A beautiful piece of art or decorative mirrors are my go-to.

3. Begin Layering with Height: You will need to include a piece of décor item that's tall enough to stand out from other décor pieces on your table. You could go for a real or artificial Orchid, an oversize vase, Candlestick stands, sculptures etc.
4. Layer With Boxes: This will serve as pedestals for accents so that there will be a variety of heights which will look visually appealing. The aim of adding books or decorative boxes, is to create some symmetry. It doesn't necessarily have to be 100% symmetric, but adding some symmetry will make the console table visually rhythmic. You could make use of coffee table boxes or decorative boxes.
5. Layer Accents: This will help you fill up the spaces and remove excess horizontal lines. I normally include decorative accents like sculptures, stones, decorative bowls, hour glasses, scented candles etc. Note that if your console table has more shelves, you'll need to add more accent pieces. The possibilities are endless. You should explore your creative side here. :)
6. Light Fixture: This isn't an absolute necessity but it's a nice touch to bring your console table to a whole other level. You can include a table lamp, or a glow décor piece like this one.

And Your done! I hope this has helped your to start thinking creatively. If you re interested in any of the décor items, you can simply click on the picture which will send you tp the amazon URL.
