"Take your time healing, as long as you want. Nobody else knows what you’ve been through. How could they know how long it will take to heal you?” — Abertoli

Mental Health issues are as important as physical health and should be addressed just as much.
When you hear mental health, what comes to mind for most people are issues regarding depression, anxiety & mania for example. But there's much more regarding mental health and this affects every single human being on earth.
Just like your physical body, eating the right foods and working out will give you a better chance at living in good health. Your mind needs to be taken care off adequately in order to live a well rounded healthy life.
Your mental health matters because;
- Your mind needs a break sometimes : Our minds need to recharge in order to pick up from where we left off otherwise there'll be a looming mental breakdown. Taking breaks from social media, work, social functions etc. are occasionally needed.
- Your mind feeds off what you take in: we need to be intentional about what we read/ listen to as we unconsciously manifest these practices. What do you watch on TV? Who do you follow on social media? What type of music do you listen to? In a few words, " Garbage in - Garbage out "
- The mind doesn't forget: If you experienced some trauma in the past, any events that relate to the traumatic events serve as triggers and will send you right back to the same mental state. This usually leads to diagnosed mental disorders which may require medication, counselling etc.
Avoiding such triggers is the most straight forward and risk free approach.
It's mental health awareness month and I just want to remind you to " take care of your mental health" - Your body will thank you so much for this xoxoxo
